WTN currently has around 50 unpaid volunteers who produce an edition of the news recording, every week.
They help WTN by performing various jobs which are divided into the following areas -
READING
5 teams of readers alternate on a rota basis to read/record the news. The recording session takes place every Friday afternoon in our studio in Weston-super-Mare.
RECORDING
A team of Recordists take it, in turn, to record the Master memory stick at the weekly recording sessions.
COPYING
Every Saturday morning, several volunteers perform this task on a rota basis. Teams of 2 copy the Master memory stick recording onto the memory sticks which are then posted off to the listeners.
PLAYER MANAGEMENT
A volunteer will visit new listeners to introduce the service and explain how the player works and leave it with the listener so they can play their weekly editions of WTN.
COMMITTEE
A small number of WTN volunteers, along with some of our listeners, administer WTN.
WTN is always looking for willing volunteers to help provide this valuable service for our visually-impaired listeners. If you are interested in helping WTN, please send us an email by clicking HERE. Please give us your name, email address and/or contact phone number and tell us which area of WTN's work you are most interested in - Thank You.
